Now I was born with a great desire to set my share of the world on fire. To set my share of the world alight and share in the flicker of the flame at night. But with all the candles I did burn, at both ends, I did learn, To share in the settin’ of the world alight and share in the flicker of the flame at night. CHORUS: So come ye now join in with me, we’ll clap our hands, we’ll stomp our feet, We’ll lift our voices in a cry: Three Fifty to Save the Sky! Now some would like the world to turn on the energy of the coal they burn And let the climate change go on till most of Bangladesh is gone From New Orleans to New York’s Coast up to Alaska’s permafrost They’d rather sell their ancient oil than love our land and save our soil. CHORUS We’ll buy back our ancient rights and stop consuming day and night, invest more and consume less and tell our worried children yes! Yes we love you! Yes we care! Yes we’ll give you your fair share! Put half our income all aside to stop the storm and turn the tide. CHORUS We’ll store up our energy by digesting some calories And when it gets all dark at night we’ll wind a crank and make some light. And if the weather does get cold we’ll all put on a few more clothes And for when we would move at great speed we’ll harvest sunlight that we’ll need. CHORUS We prefer to all invest in things that give the earth a rest Cut our consumption right in half and spend our time in greater laugh - Ter Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha CHORUS Politicians all do seem to be living in some strange dream, They’d rather go and pass the buck till someone else runs out of luck. But we the people really care and we’ll not stop till they run scared. We’ll make our leaders save the sky -- and kick their butts till they cry: CHORUS CHANT: Three Fifty to Save the Sky!

In the dark outside, you can hear a step. And you catch my eye, and I catch my breath. Acorns fall, you can hear them drop, As the crickets sing. It’s a simple thing, to hear with the heart. But it takes everything, it takes all that you are. It takes all that you are, and then makes something more, And then you no longer are, who you once were. In the dark outside, you can hear the rain. And it’s murmuring what our hearts are saying. And above the dark cover of the clouds tonight There’s a moon that’s full, pullin’ on the tide. And it’s a simple thing, to hear with the heart. But it takes everything, it takes all that you are. It takes all that you are, and then makes something more, And then you’re pulled along by this strong tidal power. There’s a fox on the hill, you can hear him bark, And know the path he walks by where the crickets go quiet. . . . Ah it’s a simple thing, to hear with the heart. But it takes everything, it takes all that you are. It takes all that you are, and then makes something more, And then you’re part of this great enormous loving world And the rain that is fallin’, well it’s floodin’ the creeks. And you and I, we are two banks of this one stream, Each one joined to the other side By the rain that falls and makes the water rise. And it’s a simple thing, to hear with the heart. But it takes everything, it takes all that you are. It takes all that you are, and then makes something more, And then you’re part part of this great enormous loving song.

Walk with me 06:38
"Walk With Me" And though there’s fire in the tower And though there’s terror of sudden death Come with me my darlin’ Johnny, Walk with me and take a breath. Walk with me and take a breather From all the anguish and the fear. Walk with me my darlin’ Johnny In that Presence that’s always near. And we’ll take one step for the lost. And we’ll take one step for the found. And we’ll take one step after another Placing our feet clearly, softly on this ground. And we will make of all we meet Make of each woman, man and child, Make of each a friend and neighbor, Sharing the simple gift of a smile. And we shall not need to be the fastest And we shall not need to push and shove. We will need only to share our hearts here, now, In this Presence of heart felt love. And though there’s fire in the mountains And in the valley, shadows of death, Come with me, my beloved Ali, Walk with me and take a breath. Walk with me and take a breather From all the anguish and the fear. Walk with me beloved Ali In that Presence that’s always near.

CHORUS: And it’s shiver down me timbers and shiver down me bones, and shiver me all over for the water is so cold! and though it’s a hungry ocean, no matter come what may, at College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea! VERSE: At College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea, at least once every year we dive into it merrily! And some swim to Bar Island and some swim back again and some swim in the glory of their very frozen friends! CHORUS At College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea, When it rushes in through a hole in the boat, we staunch it merrily. With a foot to the floor and a back to the oar, we row with all our might and it’s home to Bar Harbor and the hot food there tonight! CHORUS At College of the Atlantic we have no fear of the sea. For the omens are always good and no matter come what may And though the sky grow dark and though the wind blow cold our eyes are always bright and our hearts are always bold! CHORUS At College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea even though the sea of life is evolving constantly. If we freeze to death while young or destroy our fertile genes, our College mates all share our hopes and will carry on our dreams. CHORUS At College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea, at least once every year we dive into it merrily! And some swim to Bar Island and some swim back again and some swim in the glory of their very frozen friends!

We All Come From Africa I come from the State of Maine, the place we call Downeast. Very pretty island . . . you should visit me. Very pretty mountain, very pretty streams, fingers of the ocean caressing me. But we all come from Africa, all come from Africa, all come from Africa, all come from Africa, Africa. Some headed north, some headed east. All the way to my home island came the Wabnakis. Some come on feet, some come on wheels, some come on wings -- ohh . . . see how it feels! Many different voices, many different songs. Many different dreams -- dreams and visitations. We come from a tree, we come from the ground, we come from the ocean, we come from a cloud. Here we are in this crazy state, maybe we'll be here next week. Or maybe up in the mountains, maybe down by the sea. Dancing in Life’s details, laughing at our luck, spinning on this crazy globe -- holding each other up.

She'll be ridin' on a donkey when she comes. She'll be ridin' on a donkey when she comes. She'll be ridin' on a donkey, she'll be ridin' on a donkey, she'll be ridin' on a donkey when she comes. . And she'll come bearin’ a baby when she comes . . . And there’ll be no room at the inn when she comes. And a dictator will want her disappeared. And she'll have to flee to Egypt when she comes. And she'll be a refugee when she comes. And she’ll be seekin’ Sanctuary when she comes. And who'll go out to greet her when she comes? (We all will!) And the donkey will eat blue grass when she comes.

College of the Atlantic, the school where I have worked off and on since 1971, gives one undergraduate degree, a B. A. in Human Ecology. This song was written to celebrate the annual swim between the college pier on Frenchman's Bay and Bar Island -- and to celebrate a readiness to jump into the adventure of life with all of its challenges for justice, peace, friendship, love, learning, spirit and all the rest of it. An important note: Fear may take the form of the respect that leads us to attend with care or of the panic that robs us of the power of careful attention and intentional action. Respect for the might of the sea – be it ocean of salt or a sea of Life -- is wisdom. What the merry folk of COA scoff at is the mindrobbing fear that is a panic. lyrics CHORUS: And it’s shiver down me timbers and shiver down me bones, and shiver me all over for the water is so cold! and though it’s a hungry ocean, no matter come what may, at College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea!
